Our story

Our Journey with Maatripure — by Ashwini Upadhyay
It all started on 19th January 2021, with just one cow, a borrowed ₹20,000 from my father, and a dream I wasn’t even sure how to define. I didn’t have a big farm or a team — just a small space, my hands, and the belief that if I stayed honest and kept going, something good would come out of it.I used to do everything myself — milking, cleaning, selling — no labor, no shortcuts. For the first six months, I focused only on reinvesting whatever little I earned, and that helped me buy my second cow. Slowly, cow by cow, day by day, I built something that felt like more than just a business. After 1.5 years, I had 4 cows. I still remember those days — riding through villages, selling milk door to door. But deep down, I knew I wanted to do more than just sell milk. I wanted to bring back the traditions we were losing — the ancient ways of eating and living that connected us to purity.

So, I started making Bilona Ghee — the real kind, made from curd, hand-churned, and cooked on a mitti chulha, not to save cost but to keep the process pure. I walked shop to shop, home to home, telling people, “It may cost a bit more, but what you’re getting isn’t just ghee — it’s a step towards better health, you’re investing in your family’s well-being.”And then, when the time was right, I made a decision that changed everything.I left my job as a software developer, gave up the comfort I had built over 4 years — and poured every last rupee I had into building this dream. But here’s the truth — I didn’t do it alone.

Nitesh Upadhyay
My brother, Nitesh Upadhyay, has been with me every step of the way. Co-founder, brother, and backbone of Maatripure. Without him, none of this would have been possible. From waking up before sunrise to milking cows, making ghee, packing, selling — we did it all together. No fancy machines, no big team. Just effort, trust, and shared vision. By 2024, we had taken a ₹10 lakh bank loan, leased a small land, and built our own farm. We grew our herd again, focused on quality, and watched our income grow — from just ₹8,000 a month to ₹2.5 lakhs. But more than money, we were building something meaningful — something real.People often say you have to move to a metro city to succeed. We wanted to break that myth. If your dream is honest and your work is pure, you can build it anywhere — even from a village. And we didn’t stop there.

On 19th January 2025, we launched our second venture — Vermicompost, made by hand, no machines, no carbon emission, no chemicals. We use cow dung from our own cows to make natural, earth-friendly compost — a product that heals the soil and helps other farmers grow.Today, we’re not just proud dairy farmers. We’re creators of sustainable change.Maatripure is not just a brand. It’s our journey.
- It’s our soil.
- It’s our mother’s blessings.
- It’s the purity we felt the world had forgotten.
- We’re here to bring it back —
- One drop of ghee, one spoon of honey, one handful of compost at a time.
- This is our truth.
- This is Maatripure — Nature’s Own Farm.
